The WEBFILTER_CACHE_NOT_ENABLED message is reported into the system message file whenever the webfilter (integrated web filtering) process failed to enable the web-filtering category cache. Integrated web filtering is currently only supported on J-Series and SRX devices.
The WEBFILTER_CACHE_NOT_ENABLED message is logged each time the webfilter process failed to enable the web-filtering category cache.
When the WEBFILTER_CACHE_NOT_ENABLED event occurs, a message similar to the following is reported:
WEBFILTER_CACHE_NOT_ENABLED: Failed to enable the web-filtering category cache
The cause of this message is usually a lack of system memory. Normally this is a transient issue, but the lack of memory could be due to a hardware failure.
Examine the following output to help determine the cause of this message:
show log messages
Look for any related events that occurred at or just before the WEBFILTER_CACHE_NOT_ENABLED message. Messages showing memory issues or memory hardware failures indicate that the WEBFILTER_CACHE_NOT_ENABLED message is likely due to hardware failure.
Any other events may have caused this message, such as a commit. If so, the failure to enable the web filter cache may be due to that one type of event occurring.
