The CHASSISD_PSU_OVERLOAD message is reported in the system syslog messages file when the Power Supply Unit (PSU) detects a voltage overload condition. The number of the PSU detecting the condition will be encased in brackets and listed to the right of the message.
The indicated power supply unit (PSU) reported an output voltage overload condition.
The number of the PSU detecting the condition will be encased in brackets and listed to the right of the message.
This log message is triggered by an event not a system error. There may be an excessive power load on the PSU. Determine the voltage level being output by the specified power supply.
If the messages are continually being added to the log messages file, additional troubleshooting steps are recommended:
- Determine the voltage output for the PSU in question.
- Review the Technical support hardware information specific to the router for the expected voltage output of the PSU. The technical documentation can be found here: http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/.
- Power off and back on the power supply.
- If the error messages persist in the logs, request an RMA to replace the PSU (or the device, if the PSU is not removable).
