The chassis process (chassisd) could not perform the indicated I/O operation on the indicated component (field-replaceable unit, or FRU). This message, when seen, is usually in connection with the craft interface on an M320 or TX device.
When a CHASSISD_FRU_IO_ERROR event occurs, a message similar to the following is reported:

The cause may be either do to a faulty connection to the reported FRU, or the FRU is in a state that is not allowing it to function properly.
Examine the following output to help determine the cause of this message:
show log messages show log chassisd
Look for any related events that occurred at or just before the CHASSISD_FRU_IO_ERROR message.
- During a maintenance window, as it may impact transit traffic, try reseating and/or resetting the connection to the affected FRU device.
- If the log messages continue, open a case with your technical support representative to investigate the issue further.
