This article describes the issue of the Junos Pulse Connection status icon, on the Windows Mobile, being shown as connected, even though the user’s session has timed out on the SA device.
Scenario:
Windows Mobile users launch the Junos Pulse mobile client and uses SAM (Secure Application Manager) for resource access.
After the Junos Pulse client is launched, the connection status icon is displayed as connected, as shown in the following image:
In the event the user is timed out by the SA due to idle timeout settings, the connection status icon is stil displayed as connected.
The Junos Pulse connection status icon will update itself, only when the end user tries to access any resource that is SAM enabled traffic (traffic that is supposed to pass via SAM).
So, a timed out user’s Pulse client connection status icon will update to the correct status, when the end user tries to access SAM enabled traffic.
