The Juniper Services Redundancy Protocol process (jsrpd), which controls chassis clustering, could not create a version of itself to run in the background as a daemon. Chassis clustering is only supported on J-series and SRX devices.
The problem related to this syslog message is described in the following sections:
The JSRPD_DAEMONIZE_FAILED message is logged each time the jsrpd process is not able to create a background daemon version of itself.
When a JSRPD_DAEMONIZE_FAILED event occurs, a message similar to the following is reported:
JSRPD_DAEMONIZE_FAILED: Aborting, unable to run in the background as a daemon: <error-message>
The cause may be due to either insufficient system resources, such as memory space, or due to a software issue that is preventing the daemon to be invoked as expected.
Examine the following output to help determine the cause of this message:
show log messages show log jsrpd show system processes extensive
Look for any related events that occurred at or just before the JSRPD_DAEMONIZE_FAILED message. Examine the system processes output to verify that system memory is not all allocated for use by other processes.
