Junos processes can request that the event processing process (eventd) notify them when a specific event occurs. The eventd process could not send an event notification for the indicated reason.
The EVENTD_EVENT_SEND_FAILED message is logged each time the eventd process can not send an event notification to a process that previously requested it be notified.
The event policy process (eventd) performs configured actions in response to events on a routing platform that trigger system log messages. When an EVENTD_EVENT_SEND_FAILED event occurs, a message similar to the following is reported:
eventd: EVENTD_EVENT_SEND_FAILED: Unable to send event notification: <error-message>
The cause may be due to an eventd internal table corruption, software error, or the process hung.
Examine the following output to help determine the cause of this message:

Look for any related events that occurred at or just before the EVENTD_EVENT_SEND_FAILED message. The eventd log can be configured by referring to the instructions at Tracing Event Policy Processing.
Perform these steps:
- During a maintenance window, as it will impact transit traffic, try to restart the eventd process.
